Baby Watch Kid's Speed Analogue Watch

As time goes by more and more people are using their computers to make purchases. Almost every day there are thousands of consumers making their first online purchases and what may surprise you is that these purchases are not for small items but items such as cars, diamond jewelry and even houses. But when you purchase online how do you know that you will be getting the highest quality product at a fair price and more importantly, how do you know that your personal credit card information is safe?

Although you can buy almost anything online, today we will just be looking at purchasing diamond jewelry online.

1.) Once you start searching for diamond jewelry on the internet, you will notice that there are hundreds, if not thousands of sites selling all types of diamond jewelry. How do you know which ones are reputable?

The first thing to check for is that the jewelry company has a physical address listed and also additional phone contact information. Notice that I said jewelry company and not the jewelry site, the reason is this, many jewelry companies have sales people that help sell the jewelry for them, these sales people are known as affiliates. The independent sales person or affiliate then creates a site which showcases the merchants line of products. When you click on a link on the affiliates site you are then brought to the merchants site. It is on this site that you will look for contact information. In addition to a physical address be sure that there is also a toll free number so that you can easily call their customer service without it costing you a penny.

2.) Look on the merchant's site to be sure that you see a VeriSign seal and also a BBB online Reliability seal. The VeriSign seal will assure you that the site is tested for security and the BBB online Reliability seal is the online version of the Better Business Bureau. Click both seals to be sure that they are active and not just a graphic plastered on the page. Many diamond merchants will also have other seals for additional organizations that they belong to but the above two are the most important.

3.) The merchant's site should have a diamond learning center page or set of pages where you can get to know the 4 C's of diamonds. The more you know about diamonds the better prepared you are to get exactly what you are looking for. Learn a bit about diamond colors, their clarity ratings, understand what the diamond sizes are and have an idea of what type of cut you like. They should also have an "about us" page explaining their diamond history, their diamond training and expertise. This will let you know how long they have been in business and what their qualifications are.

4.) A reputable company will assist you in every step of your ordering process by having an interactive site, where you can see actual sizes of jewelry and can "play around" with different buttons comparing different cuts, clarity levels, sizes etc. This will give you an idea of how large a company they actually are. If they only have a handful of diamonds you won't be given the opportunity to find your perfect jewelry piece at the lowest price.

5.) Read and fully understand their return policy. Get to know their policy inside and out before you make a purchase. Most will have a standard 30 day money back policy, but some only allow for exchanges or merchant credit and in some circumstances sales are final. So read it and read it over again and if you have any questions at all call them on the phone so that you fully understand.

Although it may be daunting at first to purchase a diamond piece online, it is actually a wise choice. Without having to pay for high rent in shopping centers, an online store will often price their jewelry a bit lower saving you money or if you prefer you can choose a higher quality piece. There are no sales people standing right next to you so you can take all the time in the world to pick and choose. Picking the right diamond piece is as close as your keyboard.
